I do think that families are the most beautiful things in all the world.

You know you’ve had the most perfect season of rest and wintering when you’re anxiously anticipating spring and the time with you it will bring! Breaks are great but the work of memory keeping alongside you is so much better!

In case you’re in one of those seasons when you feel your heart trying to take pictures so you can remember it, I’m here. A friend mentioned at the end of last year that her ‘word of the year’ would be bloom…I hope yours is headed in that same wonderful direction!

with so much warmth & affection,
 -melanie-

P.S. Wondering if I can come to you outside of Lexington?  It’s very likely…the earlier in the year we plan it, the easier it is to help calendars match up!  And I love variety & travel so it would be a dream!

Sessions at home are a favorite…we have access to favorite toys, your backyard, cuddling on the couch, pets…and it’s easy to grab a treat from the fridge for the last 5 minutes that will absolutely delight your kiddos!

It’s such a joy to work on a book of these afterwards with you!  This is our signature offering and I’m so glad of heart to be your helper in saving these memories.

Spring is one of the shortest and most beautiful seasons for family photos – blossoming trees, weather that allows for cute layering, golden evening light that comes before your kiddos are typically tucked in bed…I love spring!!

[ kind words ]

Hi Melanie,

I wanted to let you know that we finally had around 20 photos, mostly from our sessions over the years, printed and framed for a gallery wall. I knew from the moment you sent the digital final albums that you were incredibly talented, but seeing these photos printed and framed and arranged together was an experience.

I am so grateful to you for these images. They capture a love that just keeps growing and maturing. It’s amazing to me that over the years all of the images have a signature cohesiveness that absolutely feels like it was all meant to be all along even if at times we had no idea what our life would be like or what we were doing. I’m rambling now, but I hope you will consider coming back for another session this August so you can see for yourself!

Andrea

A Grateful Goodbye

For nearly three decades, it has been my deep honor to document your life. After much reflection, I’ve made the decision to retire from photography.
