Winter cocooning has yielded so much good – and I’m finally ready to share something I’ve been holding close.
This spring, for the very first time, I’ll be offering heirloom portraits at Seeds & Saplings, the beloved children’s shoppe in Georgetown, KY. If you haven’t visited yet, you will adore Resa, the owner, who is SO warm and thoughtful!
As I’ve been reflecting on my role as a helper in preserving your family’s legacy, I realized I wanted to make our photo books even more meaningful. Going forward, you’ll have the option to include a sweet letter to your family at the front or back of your book, favorite memories from the year, and even short interviews with each child about the things they love – little glimpses of who they are right now.
I’m envisioning a collection of books resting on your living room bookcase, pulled down often and lingered over. A true record of a life unfolding.
If it’s been a while since your last full session, I’d suggest beginning with a session at home. Then if. you join me for a mini session in the summer or fall, those images can be woven in as well, beautifully complementing the indoor moments. My hope is that these books become a memory keeper that holds some of the magic of your family’s life. I’m so excited to build something enduring with you. Something that will be treasured not just now, but for decades to come.

Our first heirloom session ……I have an image of my mother like this when she was little, so I feel so sentimental about this offering!! With all the winter weather, it can be hard to imagine spring….gratefully, this session will be indoors!

details: a 10 minute petite session, $150* session fee. This is for one child.
Upon booking, we’ll send guidance on what to wear ideas so it’s extra beautiful as well as darling frame options!
*price includes sales tax. prints and digital files are purchased separately. because of the careful editing, there will be 3 images from each 10 minute session in your gallery

If you don’t see a date that works well, please jot us a quick note at info@melaniemauer.com because we can likely find a fit! We light up seeing your emails in our inbox! And I’m aflutter in anticipation of seeing you!
Sessions at home are a favorite…we have access to favorite toys, your backyard, cuddling on the couch, pets…and it’s easy to grab a treat from the fridge for the last 5 minutes that will absolutely delight your kiddos!
They are easy going with gentle direction and focused on play, appreciation and noticing all that’s good!
Can’t wait to arrive on your doorstep for memory saving! Every year, I’m SO grateful we took time as family for this and the compounded effect through the years is worth so much to me!
