1. made at home
2. of domestic manufacture
1. the emotion excited by the expectation of good
2. happiness, felicity
Homemade joy has been a phrase on my heart the last couple of weeks. There’s certainly been extra time at home to work on it ;) Going on a walk to a neighborhood park and reading in our hammocks, making monster bubble mix, baking new recipes, writing letters, calling & facetiming with family…the days over the past three months have been peppered with lots of homemade joy and I’m so glad about it!
I’ve been excited to announce our summer mini sessions – they’re at such a lovely farm outside lexington…we’ll be using a lovely corner just past their barn that has trees and fencing aplenty. And I just heard from the owner that it’s like a bird sanctuary right now…so peaceful.
I could have done it a bit earlier but I didn’t want there to be too big of a rush to arrange some clothes and get haircuts (my sweetheart has been getting trims from our daughter on the back porch, how about your crew?). It’s tough to predict the fall, so this may be our only mini session of the year (and if it’s your tradition to have photos for holiday cards, I’d suggest getting it done early).
Because larger events are in such an odd spot this year, we’re able to do something I’ve wanted to be able to do for years…every handful of weeks, we’ll have a little bit of Saturday availability for portraits. Yay, yay, yay!
what a gift it is to live,

Photography may not be “essential” in pandemic terms, but your work certainly feels that way to us. We love the images you take right from the start, but we really treasure them even more as time passes. It is so important to me to have good quality photos of my children, as these moments are just so fleeting. As much as I try to soak up every detail, my memory will never be as perfect as a picture….All of this is to say, I am so incredibly grateful for you and the talent you bring to your work! We are missing you this April, but hope we won’t have to miss you for too long.
